About JMR

Owner Mark Denman has built his career on a genuine dedication to the industry and a constant drive to invest in himself and improve. He began as an apprentice with British Gas, gaining an advanced apprenticeship in Domestic Gas Maintenance to NVQ Level 3, and spent 15 years there building a deep grounding in heating, cooling and renewable technologies.

Rather than stand still, Mark pushed himself further, studying for a BEng (Hons) in Business Management and Economics alongside his trade qualifications, and later moving into commercial refrigeration by running Tesco’s Maintenance refrigeration department in London. Working across different sides of the industry, from domestic to commercial, gave him a broader understanding of the trade and the standards required to do it properly.

This ongoing commitment to learning and improvement led to Mark becoming accredited with the Institute of Engineering and Technology as an Engineering Technician, alongside a growing list of qualifications across heat pumps, water systems and energy efficiency. He was also one of the original members of the Heat Geek family, becoming an Elite member early on and playing a hands-on role in helping to grow the community into what it is today. In 2020, he put that experience to use and set up his own family business to support the local community, growing from a sole trader with a van and bag of tools into a respected, established limited company by 2022.

The name JMR comes from the names of Mark’s children, reflecting the family values that are at the heart of the business. Although the company has grown, we’ve maintained the friendly, approachable service and commitment to treating every project with the same care and attention as if it were our own home.
